Kentucky Airmotive, Inc. operates as the FBO for the Mount
Sterling, Montgomery Co. Airport, located approximately 2 miles
West of Mt. Sterling, KY. We conduct an average of 100 Aircraft
Operations per day, with over 87 single-engine, multi-engine, jets,
and helicopters based on field.
Kentucky Airmotive, inc. began operations in 1972 on the Mt.
Sterling-Montgomery Co. Airport field which opened in Nov.,
1964. In 1992, Daniel Hill became Manager for KyAir.
The field now consists of 54 acres, with the addition
of many hangers, services, and capabilities.
We offer Charter, Freight, Maintenance, Avionics repair, a Part
61 Flight School, and Avgas – Jet A 24/7. Kentucky Air also
is a certified CATS-PSI Testing Center, offering testing
for everything from FAA testing, to Crane Operators.

We have two runways of 5000′ x 75′ , 03 and 21, rated at S-20.
The runways are equipped with Edge Lighting, GSIs, REIL,
Beacon, Seg-Circle, Wind Indicator, and Unicom at 122.8.
We offer AWOS, with VOT, VOD, and VOR approaches.
Field Elevation is 1019.3 MSL.
The Airport is home to the Annual EAA Fly-In Breakfast, with
Plane Rides for the public, and an excellent Airshow. If
you haven’t had the opportunity, we would like to invite
you to bring the kids, grandkids, or whole family. Take
a plane ride, enjoy good food and a good airshow.
Air Methods maintains a base on-field with two Air Ambulance
helicopters at the ready. These highly skilled, brave men
& women are an absolutely vital asset to our community.
We also offer courtesy vehicles or call ahead if short
or long-term rentals are needed. We’ll have them ready.
